PT 007: Charlottesville, Newspaper Branding

Reggie and Paul discuss what’s been dominating the media cycle this week in Charlottesville, Va. We talk about the difference between freedom of speech and hate speech and give a brief timeline according to an article in the Washington Post before taking on the argument of whether confederate statues should exist at all and should they be replaced with more educational institutions.

The second half of the show Paul introduces managing editor, Nu Yang, of Editor & Publisher, an industry trade magazine for journalism. Together they explore the role newspapers take in branding themselves in the digital era of news.
